When you are making first contact with a client is is better to use e mail or phone them directly?

Which do you use and why?

Which method have you found to be more effective and lead to a hire conversion rate?

If you can handle telesales, phoning them is much more effective. I've had a lot of success with phone calls this month. I use email because I have a VA in the Philippines doing that for $1.67 an hour but I don't spend any time on email myself. I spend my time writing letters and making phone calls.

    I agree...

It pretty much depends on your style and what you're good at and creating a system that works.

If you're good on the phone give people a call.

If that scares you to death.

    Send an email!

OR learn how to cold call and give it a try.

Same here I also agree that using phone is more effective than email. For me it is more sincere and formal way of finding a client. It is just depends on how you will deal with the clients. I've also encounter being called at home and at first I'm not interested and when I hear about their service I change my mind and they make me subscribe to their service.
