I've been using this really handy SEO research tool that is only getting more useful.
It's called Traffic Travis.
They have a free version that you can upgrade for $5 for 7 days, then it's $47 and another $47 in 30 days.
This thing does as much as a lot of other tools that cost way more.
I use the "SEO Analysis" feature to find competing web sites for a given keyword and print a screenshot to show to clients how easy (or hard) it will be to get into the top 20 of Google.
Here's an example of an SEO Analysis of the keyword phrase "twitter template". Click on the little thumbnail below to see it full size.

Well, if anybody can find the price of Market Samurai from their sales page without commiting to buy it, why don't you post it here?
It seems to be filled with "time-limited offers" that have been in place since "Summer 2008".
Which is why I posted the price of Traffic Travis here -- so you know what you're getting into up front.

MrPhelps - I am wondering what makes traffic travis better than market samarai? i am on the fence between the two
thomasmps
I started this thread to share with people the value I'm getting from Traffic Travis.
Ask the guy who posted about Market Samurai. All he said was that it was once priced at $47. I guess that's supposed to be helpful somehow.
What I can tell you is that Traffic Travis has a free version that you can use forever. If you want to upgrade, they have their pricing clearly displayed on the sales page. Give it a try. If you don't have Market Samauri, then all you have to go on is the hype on their sales page.
I posted this so people CAN get their hands on a great tool and actually USE it. The free version is great, and the Pro version is even better.
If someone with MS wants to do a side-by-side comparison, great.
Personally, I'm tired of dealing with all of the hype and artificial "limited-time offers" intended to stimulate the buying addicts among us. I mean, what can you say about a product who's sales page is full of warnings about imminent price increases and limited-time offers that was written in "Summer 2008" and apparently hasn't been updated since then?

I own paid versions for both TrafficTravis and Market Samurai... Both are great tools. I find myself using Market Samurai almost exclusively, rarely do I now open TT. MS just keeps getting better and better with frequent updates and new modules being added. They also have great training videos in their "dojo".
david -i just downloaded the traffic travid and ran a keyword and it ran to get the results but i dont see the results,am i missing something? is there another button to click to the keyword reults?
thomas
Every one of their screens has a little training video for it that pops up automatically until you turn it off.
That said, I can't see what you did or what results you got, so I can't really be of much help. It has always worked for me.

There's been a big fuss lately about Traffic Travis mining data from your research for the
company's own private use. Traffic Travis is owned by Affiliorama and apparently the TOS
on the software entitles the companies to scrape all your research data and use it in anyway
they see fit.
Here more about that: WarriorForumTraffic Travis TOS Issue
As far as the price of Market Samurai, which I've found very useful and well designed,
you can get it at a price of $97 (us) when you sign-up for the free trial version
through This Page - it offers the discount from the
regular price ($147) but withdraws the discount after a while.
That's all I can say about their pricing. I bought the software for full-price, not
knowing about the discount option (maybe it wasn't available at the time) and
I've been very happy with the features and reliability.
Hi,
I also use market samurai and find it very useful.
A little tip: After the trial version of the full program runs out, the keyword tool
continues to work. So you can still use the best in my view keyword research tool
on the market for free.

I too have paid versions of both. Both have their places, I find TT useful for a quick scan of the top ten for a niche, before going to fire up Market Samurai, which takes much longer to load for quick queries. I do not like the fact that almost every niche I have looked at with TT has said easy to rank for, when you look over at MS, it clearly shows that it would take a ton of energy to rank for that particular term. That stems from TT only taking into account some basic on page seo and not giving enough weight to the off page stuff.
very cool tool indeed... i ran across this a while ago and it certainly is good... thanks for sharing with this forum !!
Traffic Travis gathers your data
I will look for the reports of this and they got caught and I believe corrected it, however pretty sneaky that they were doing it...remember these are marketers so to steal your research is serious
Thanks for sharing the best tool for SEO research. Your tool is very useful for me. I wonder what is the best way of the market, Samarai Travis? I am a wall between. Both are excellent tools. I am almost exclusively with the Samurai market in rare cases, I can now open the TT.
