There are a million out there and most are just crap.

The way to spin an article correctly (IMHO) is by paragraph. So for example, you have a 500 word article with 6 paragraphs. Re-write each paragraph 3 more times so it says the same thing in different words. Each paragraph should flow from any of the 4 before it and into any of the 4 after it. Then when spun the now 2000 word article will yield 4096 versions of the 500 word article which 1228 will be 70% unique or better.

Why spin if there is no duplicate content penalty?

Because you can use these unique articles for other things:
Use half of one for a blog post
make a video from one
read one for an audiopod
guest blog posts on other sites in your client's niche
ehow article comments
other blog comments
a short PDF report
you can submit one to Ezines and not have to wait until it is approved to mass submit it to other directories
you can usually put several articles in auto submit software and it will rotate the article
and just about anything else you can think of.

for that article, I just let him do it, for other articles/sites I use Icannsofts various submitters sparingly.
