I'd like to second that comment.

Excellent piece of writing, very conversational and none of the OTT hyperbole.

You know what? I'm going to check it out myself, not because I suck at sales but because I like the way the product has been represented. And of course, you can always pick up different strategies.

    Good job.

It was the way that it was presented that hooked me, as well as the strategies that were outlined - EXCELLENT!

I'll echo everything that Iman and Bayo said, real nice sales page Jim.

I think it was this quote that made the sale for me though...

    Iman,

That's because I kept it short... Only 22 pages!!! Ha-ha!.

Seriously... that's kinda my philosophy with attracting offline clients; WOW 'em, don't be BORING, tell 'em
what you can do for them in simple terms: "can increase your phone traffic in 3 weeks or less" and then
    DELIVER on your promise.

It's a NO-FAIL system. Glad you liked it.

Coming from someone who's a polished sales pro (my opinion), I'm honored.

I'd rather READ what Marlon has to say than LISTEN to him on video with that squealy voice of his! Thanks.

    Jim,

I'm totally psyched about implementing your system - I'll definitely be reporting to you & the forum what my results have been. One more thing, in a sea of "OTT hyperbole" as Bayo put it, it was refreshing to read, to say the least."

I'm a fan for life! LOL

    Very generous of you Don.

Here's something that I did that was similar:

    1) Bought a domain name: Best[MyTown]Painter.com

    2) I created a lead capture page that offered a free report on "How to Hire a House Painter and Avoid Getting Ripped off."

    3) Used video to drive traffic to the site

    ) Achieved Google page 1& 2 rankings

    4) Sent email to area painters that included a video to them about what I had done

    5) Offered the site to the one who called me first.

I believe it came out to 27 painters that I could find email addresses for in Google Maps.

Didn't get a response though. Could've been that they don't check their email regularly, or a million other reasons.

I will use the postcard strategy for this, and other niches that I am targeting from this point forward.

    Iman,

That's the problem with email... you don't know what's happening on the other end.

Did it go thru, did it end up in junk mailbox??? And some people might be leary of strange
emails. I killed two computers opening up emails.

With a postcard, you know it'll get there. Sure, they can easily junk it once it gets there. But
    it'll get there.

You may want to follow up with an email later "I sent you a postcard with your website on it, etc"
or I sent you a postcard for 'BestSacramentoPainter.com' on it...

"Why don't I build a website for a certain category of business (Roofers)....get a Domain Name that appeals to their EGO....then, offer to RENT IT to the First Chiro who wanted to pay for it.

So...I got an "Ego" domain....built a 3 page site and now.....HOW was I going to "Sell" it?

Well....I could Phone Roofers and say, "Mr Roofer....the Internet can make it easier for you to get Roofing Jobs. I've created a Website JUST FOR Roofers. When you get a chance, go up and take a look at it and see IF you like it. It's address is, "www._____.com" !

Or....I could send an email to Roofers BUT, because only ONE in my Phone Book had a website....it would be hard to get their email addys SOooooo....I thought, "Hey! Why don't I take a Picture of the Home Page, place it on a GIANT POSTCARD along with "Sales Boxes" pointing out features and benefits and.....something that will MOTIVATE any Roofer interested in my site to...."CONTACT ME!" and "TELL ME!".....he "WANTS TO HAVE MY SITE"!....instead of me beating my gums trying to convince them to buy!

So I made up a BIG, Full Color PostCard and included the words; "THIS CARD IS BEING SENT TO 5 ROOFERS IN THIS AREA! THE FIRST ROOFER WHO WANTS IT....GETS IT"!

So....by using a STRONG, MOTIVATING, "EGO" Domain Name and....bringing in the Law of Scarcity" I was able to "Rent" each and every website I created.

And....in "May of 2008" I registered a Domain where I was going to put up a site selling my "Biz Manual" on how to do this, "WebsitesOnSpec.com" ("Spec" is short for "speculation") .....and....here we are, TWO YEARS LATER and I still haven't put it up Sooooo....I am going to FORCE MYSELF to find the time.

We are doing similar with sites in our area - now they are on page one, we are deciding whether to

    a) sell them
    b) rent them out
    c) offer them as part of a package

It will depend a bit on what the businesses we get in touch with want.

    a) is OK and will work, but it would only bring in cash short term, so we're more inclined to aim for b and c. If it's b, we would still drive traffic to the site as part of the deal, and work at upselling to the full consultancy package along the way.

    Ex: "BestRoofersInGeorgia.com" (Available THIS Minute)

You create a Site using the above domain and on the Home Page...you put some Graphic Stuff pertaining to what "Roofers" do and....List Towns in Alphabetical Order....
    Albany - BestAlbanyRoofer.com
    Athens - BestAthensRoofer.com
    Atlanta - BestAtlantaRoofer.com
    Augusta - BestAugustaRoofer.com

...and each Link goes to the participating Roofer's site.

THIS gives each site MORE EXPOSURE to consumers AND....gives each participating Roofer and EXTRA SHOT OF "EGO"....to "puff out their shirts".

They are NOW....a PART OF....something BIGGER than their little ol' town site.....these guys are NOW....STATEWIDE!...which has, IMO, tremendously MORE Value.

    I call it...."Expanding the Value!"...which does 2 things for you;
    1) Prospects JUMP ON...QUICKER!
    2) Prospects are willing to PAY MORE...because they're getting MORE for a little moe time and expense on your part.

So....Jim....can you see what I'm driving at?

Excellent take on it it, Don

And for anyone who finds one of the series is taken, you could have it read like:

    Albany - AlbanyRoofer.com
    Athens - AthensRoofer.com
    Atlanta - TrustedAtlantaRoofer.com
    Augusta - YourAugustaRoofer.com
Autralia - BestAustralianRoofer.com (yes, I know it's a whole country, not an area, but I've not has any coffee this morning!)

The reason I brought this up is because we were at an IM conference, and this whole concept came up...and somone kept saying, "But what happens if '[my town'roofer.com' is gone?

He seemed to be in a flat spin panic and not able to recognise variations for what they are - yet more opportunities.

We have a few such as [my town]solicitors.co.uk, etc. The accountants one was gone, so we put up bestaccountants[my town].co.uk. It got up there on page one pretty quickly...and the one that had been bagged by someone else is just parked, so whilst I would have liked to get the domain name, I'm not fussed.

You guys have offered some great twists to this business model. I've been thinking about this "rent-a-site" concept for quite some time but cannot find any indepth "how-to" information. These ideas are wonderful -- my creative juices are really flowing.

I want to keep my domains connected in some way so I can maintain my focus. I think if they sort of piggy-back off each other, it would be easier for me to create content and maintain the flow.

Jim, I love that header also. I have been really busy working on my offline marketing business and haven't been on the forum for the past week or two -- trying to stay focused so I can get some pressing things done. I missed your OSO! I hope to get it soon, though. I would love to have the source for that postcard header, too. As Don said, you really "nailed" it . . . you put a nice piece together real fast!

Iman, I like your take on that concept, too.

Jacqui, you amaze me . . . you have so many things going on but you seem to juggle everything so well and manage to get a lot done! I like the options you came up with for your "rent-a-site". I think "B" and "C" are both winners -- if you can find a way to package the concept so the client will get a great return by using it, it would be a great way to make recurring income. How much work do you think will need to go into maintaining a site like that? What steps do you take to get a #1 Pageranking on Google? How long does it take you to get it, on average?

    ~ Iris
    I concur.

    Don,

I'll be making a quick video on the how-to, where-to etc... and adding it to the eCourse.

You want headers with hammers? There's plenty of them. How 'bout that hammer below?

Then fill in the name of website - Joe Blow Contractor - "We Nail Down The Job To Perfection" (... or something like that.)

    Hi Jim,

Just got your course. First thing I saw after clicking "Order Here" made me think, "Wow, this is a great idea -- this guy is smart!" So even before I accessed the course, you gave me a great marketing tip! I can't wait to dig into the course and learn more. Thanks so much for making this available!

I bought this and am blown away! There is actually a ton of great information beyond postcards as well. The writing style is great and makes it fun to read. I actually talked on the phone with Jim today and we had a great offline chat about our businesses. Buy this if you are thinking about direct mail to generate leads.

Jim, the ecourse is great. Laid out very nicely and easy to follow.

I do have a question before I start to implement, you put a phone# and URL on each post card. What is the purpose of the website you list on the postcard? Is it an optin for a report? Is it just your consulting site? Do you think it matters what the content of the site is?

    Thanks!

    Hi Jim,
Your package will save mucho time trying get the details together on using targeted postcards.
I can use your product immediately on an info product I sell to financial advisors and a client who needs to attract tenants to her executive suite business.

One glitch: I got the PayPal receipt but no follow-up email with the access/download link.

All: Buying a product like this is just another form of outsourcing. Even if you could do it yourself (and do all the testing and tweaking), why do it?

Jimian, I haven't read the sales copy yet, but a couple of questions.

    1. Do you show how to use this specifically to get clients for Google Places (I see GP on the 'cover').

    2. How about another half price sale? I jut got to OG.
