Lightbulb Custom whitelabel CRM for offline clients?

Hi, I'm new around here, but I've got a few clients, and I'm working on getting more. I feel like I've read every thread on this forum by now, I just haven't replied until now!

So, I have a thought rolling around in my head. As part of my questionnaire and blueprint, we end up talking quite a bit about how certain follow-up tasks "could" be automated and/or outsourced, but my clients don't really have the tools to do so. So, that inevitably leads to a discussion about implementing a new off-the-shelf (or in-the-cloud, as it were) CRM system that has these capabilities. One that was mentioned in a previous thread in this forum is Solve360, which I am now using in my own business, and have recommended it to clients in the past.

I say all this to bring up this topic: I am a programmer/data architect by trade, and I have the ability to build a CRM that would be suited perfectly for my clients. However, building a system from the ground-up and charging $150 a month per client is not a very wise business decision if it's only going to a few of my clients. The most I'll ever make off of my clients is, say, $1,500 a month, which pales in comparison to the consulting fees I'm already collecting from them.

So, the only thing that makes this project potentially interesting to me is a much, much wider distribution. Here's how it would work - I'll build it, host it (or let you host it, if you're concerned about your clients' data), and handle the billing for it (or you can handle billing, if we want a true white-label solution). You sell it to your clients (and keep a cut of the monthly fee), set it up for them, and do any consulting they need inside the system. For example, help them to set up an autoresponder inside the system (interface with mailchimp or something), help them to set up reminders to follow-up on clients and prospects, just do basic customization for your client's specific needs. You can whitelabel the thing with your own domain, logos, everything, I don't want any credit for it, I just want sales of the product to be driven by consultants who will assist end-users in the technical setup and customization.

Is this something anybody would be interested in? Or does something like this already exist? Obviously I'm in the very beginning stage of this project, so it can go in just about any direction we want it to. My ultimate goal is to make it easy for consultants and businesses to work together building a systematic follow-up and customer retention system, with some added convenience features like appointment scheduling, to-do lists, etc.

I thought if anyone in the world would be interested in such a product, they could be found in this forum. I would love to brainstorm about this project with you guys and gals, especially if you are currently implementing CRMs for your clients and have some specific pain-points that they don't address.
