First I want to thank Ken Perry because I wouldn't be where I am without the constant help and guidance. If you see this Ken, I want you to know that your hard work and your time wasn't wasted. Second, I would like to thank Dexx for starting the massive thread that took the offline arena by storm. Also I would like to thank AP, I know that alot of you feel a certain way about him, but if it wasn't for him I wouldn't have the confidence I have now. I'll give more details later about the deal , just wanted to post this real quick and tell everyone not to give up ... If I can do it, everyone here sure as hell can do it too ...
Details : Ok, the client is an independent pharmacist. I gave someone a card at a networking event, they ended up giving my name to him. The client contacted me for web design, saying it was time to finally get a website going. So we scheduled a meeting. I met with the client with AP's questionaire and asked him everything on it. About 30 minutes into he said he already knew he wanted to work with me because he hasn't even thought about anything other than a website. He asked what was it going to take to get something going with him. I used AP's line "everything is a process". I told him that I would gather the information and create a blueprint for his business. After I present the blueprint that is when he could decide if he wanted to go with me or not. He agreed. So I used mindjet to create his blueprint. The next week we had another meeting which I presented the blueprint. I also had the contract already printed up and ready to go which was originally $23,000. So after I presented we went over the contract and he said he really liked what I planned to do for his business but in his business most of the money was tied up in his inventory. So he asked could he hold on to the contract until he was able to free up the money so we could make the deal.
So I let him hold on to the contract and he would call me every week trying to get me to go down on the price. This all took place about 2 months ago. I wouldn't budge. So about 2 weeks ago his assistant contacted me to tell me that he was looking into other marketing companies because I opened him up to so many possibilities. I told her that he wouldn't get what I was offering so I didn't care one way or the other. That was the AP talking, inside I was nervous lol. This Saturday morning the client called and asked can I meet with him Monday and he buy me lunch. I agreed. At lunch he told me he really liked the blueprint and would love to work with me but the original price was pretty steep. Could we come to any kind of agreement. I said it depends on what he was thinking about along the lines of set up fee and monthly. So he asked could he give me 2,500 and another 2,500 in 30 days and that would equal 5,000 for the start up. Then he asked could he do 1,000 ongoing monthly and I agreed to it.
This deal took very long to be worked out but I stood firm and he seen the value and we both were happy with the outcome. To anyone that is struggling to get clients I tell you to keep plugging away, and remember one thing that is very important. You have to BELIEVE. I don't have any credibility so to speak no book, he didn't ask to see samples of work I've done or anything but I still got the deal. So I'm living proof that this can be done. If you were to see me in person you wouldn't think I was a marketing consultant. You would probably think I'm a thug or rapper or just someone up to no good. I say all that to say don't let anything stop you from what you are trying to accomplish.

Way to go LJ!!
Can't wait to see how it all came about
~Dexx
Very good! I hope to be right behind you!
Congrats!!! That is very inspiring news.
How about some details?
A very well done, keep the buzz high and get more clients !, Just some food for thought, did you or would re-negotiate the contract terms and what services are included within that fee amount because of the price reduction. Maybe by going along the lines of well 23k is my minimum fee but I can re-draft the core elements I will be servicing you with and consulting you on as per the fee reduction.
Hi L.James.
Congratulation for the deal.
Could you please share with us the blueprint that you gave to the owner so we can have a clear idea of the services you agreed on ?
Thank you in advance.
Nicely Done! Great success story. Very inspirational.

The terms of the contracted were negotiated as far as the price. The only reason the price was negotiated because I knew I had the leverage I needed to close the deal. So I made it seem like I was doing him a favor by giving him a reduced price, in reality its a win for me. If I didn't answer your question to your liking please be a bit more specific.
Very inspiring, thanks for sharing.
I read a lot of testimonials here and it's very encouraging.
Often with "how-to" guides, we know it works in theory but we have doubts about practice.. The AP stuff and this part of the forum make you feel like it's actually true.
Personally I move a lot between Canada-US so I would have problems with monthly contracts. Once I'm established more this is definitively something that I want to do though.

This is amazing, I will be closing a deal bigger than this soon. Can't wait for the money to be flowing into my bank account!
Way to go! Yes that W thread taught me so much. It was the fire underneath my bottom! I needed it.
I really love your references to what you used from that thread in terms of mindset and strategy.
I hope you're going to reward yourself with something nice. Part of abundance is to do that - as well as give a little back too. So enjoy it - this is the first of many big deals for you![]()
Nice deal you have there James! CONGRATS...
Congrats on a great deal.
I'm starting with small stuff and working my way up there.
Thanks for sharing your success. Inspiring.

nice deal!
My congrats Ljames - It works if you work it ;-)
Thhhat's whats up! G'Job!
well done, congrats!
Very inspiring man. Takes posture and guts to maintain your cool like that. This story makes me want to raise my prices. 30,000 for a web package seems like a good place to start but maybe that is limiting myself even. A friend of a business owner friend I know sells online lead generation systems online to insurance agents for 100,000 using seminars. He has people waiting nearby to help these businesses GET FINANCED to afford his packages. They can actually get a bank loan to purchase his systems. I've heard his product is crap but he doesn't care because he sets up a contract. Total posture.
Thanks man.
I love it. Congrats L.James. So how is it going so far. Has the client come through?
