I can get consistent, top listings in the 7-box, and even get 1 boxes where there wasn't previously a box. 100% white-hat strategies, and they work every time. They also hold very well with little maintenance. I've got this down to a science, and can get quick results 99% of the time.

However, I really dislike the whole process of getting new clients, so I'm looking for some people that have existing clients that we could offer this service to, or people that can get new clients that we could offer this service to.

To show you that I'm the real deal, I'll do the 1st one for you for free (you can keep the profits from the sale to your client).

Recap... you have or can get clients... I do the work that puts them at the top of Google Places for their industry in their cities (most often in the "A" spot)... we split profits 50/50.

PM me if you're interested. (Please don't contact me about getting affiliate sites or anything other than a legitimate business ranked.)

Thanks for all the private messages. I've replied to them all. Still interested in talking with a few more people. If you already have local clients and don't offer Google Places services, then this is something you should consider. Or, if you already offer Google Places services but can't get consistent top rankings that last, you should consider it too.

Well I was looking at it more like partnering with people and offering it to their clients and splitting the revenue, but I guess in a way it's selling a service. I've gotten a lot of interest, so maybe I should post something with more details in the OGO section?

I think that's a great idea! Also, offer to do it as a demo for people here for a low price so we can see it for ourselves. It's way more helpful to be able to go into a prospect and say, "Look at my listing -- I'm at the top of the heap and I can do that for you as well!"

Question: Would anyone be interested in me teaching you how to do this instead, so you can do it for your clients yourself? A few people have asked me about coaching, so I'm just wondering what the interest would be. Thanks.

Yes! Definitely. Absolutely. Affirmative.

definitely. I have my way of doing it, but nothing like a G places specialist. So coaching would be great.

Ok. I am leaving for the weekend in a little while, but I will definitely think things over during the weekend. Either way, I will definitely post some valuable information that can help everyone with Google Places on Monday. Have a great weekend everyone.

Hi JeffR,

A few questions for you...

How long have you been using this system?
How long have you been getting consistent results?
Could you give more details about how you actually mastered this skill? ( ie: trial and error, messenger from God etc.)

Thanks in advance for answering

Wow, I'm not even sure what to say. First, I wasn't even thinking about teaching other people these methods until I received a bunch of inquiries about doing so. You'll notice in my original posts I was looking to partner with people to provide the service to their clients.

As far as how I learned this, like I've told some of the other people here that I've spoken with on the phone, I've been doing SEO at an expert level for 5 years, but I just recently started doing Google Places a few months ago. I've researched it extensively (and by research I mean that I've researched information that Google themselves have provided about Google Maps), I've masterminded with several other SEO experts about it, and I've learned through a lot of trial and error.

I've never paid someone else for information regarding Google Places, but you are free to believe and assume whatever you wish to.

To everyone else, I'll be back later tonight to answer the rest of your questions. I hope everyone had a great weekend.

Hi JR,

I was reading your post in regards to getting a client listed on Google Maps. Please advise if you can quote a flat fee. I don't charge an ongoing fee to our clients. I charge one fee that encompasses many services. I would really like to outsource this aspect of service (Google Maps) especially to someone that is very competent and using white hat methods. Please advise as we have one client right now that we would need to get started on. Please PM me or reply to thread. I can't send PM as I just registered as a member.

Best Regards!

I've been doing this for a few months now, and getting consistent 7box/1box results for the past couple of months. Like I said in a post above, I've researched it extensively (and by research I mean that I've researched information that Google themselves have provided about Google Maps), I've masterminded with several other SEO experts about it, and I've learned through a lot of trial and error.

Still waiting for the expert to share the "secret". Let me guess... You are using the pingler to get the citations and/or using 2 secrets kml for sitemap ...

Hey FreeMango,

I would like to continue this "expert" thread regarding Google Geo Sitemap files and GeoRSS/KML.

If you want to PM and discuss offline let me know or we can start a new thread.

I've been "manufacturing" citations this way but it's been a slow process for Google Places to cite (index) the Geo RSS feeds.
I try to syndicate the feeds using an RSS submitter (nothing too exciting) but have not had good results.

I'm also using the Feedburner plugin on my local biz sites which only acknowledges posts and comments...so I'm not sure whether my Geo feeds are getting picked up by Feedburner.

****For anyone who doesn't know what the heck we are talking about, citations are like off-page SEO (a.k.a. backlinks) for Google Places. The more references you have for a location, the more Google considers it the authority for a particular search term.

For off-page SEO I currently use a combination of UBL.org listing submissions (because it's cheap and automated) and Geo Sitemap submission.
I also create GeoRSS feeds off my 'local biz' website blogs.

Here is the Google information: http://code.google.com/apis/kml/docu...kmlSearch.html

Other off-page Places SEO elements are Reviews and "user-generated content" which are map references to your location made on Google user accounts.

On-page SEO for Places would be considered the categories, details, pictures, videos and descriptions you enter when building the Places listing. On-page SEO tactics will only get you so far in competitive markets.****

If anyone has any insight into Google indexing of citations and Geo RSS feed syndication, please chime in.

Thanks!

Whatever you do, N-E-V-E-R make any phone number changes (or address changes) on a Google Places Listing once it's SET...

I made that mistake and it took 2 1/2 months for the dang thing to show up again...but it's back, finally!!!
(although it's doing the "Google dance" and moving around a bit....)

(Merchantcircle.com is GREAT for getting an easy citation (backlink, etc.) and it usually
gets indexed in about a week!!!)

Anyone else made this costly error and found out the hard way???

(BTW, look at the listing at "E" and notice his "website domain name" ...
it's freakin' "wwwgooglecom" !!!! What da.... ????? Is that guy ballsy or what?)

Hi Brett

If you take a look of KML from the link you've mentioned I think it missed something:

<kml xmlns="http://www.opengis.net/kml/2.2"
xmlns:atom="http://www.w3.org/2005/Atom">
<Document>

<atom:author>
<atom:name>J. K. Rowling</atom:name>
</atom:author>

<Placemark>

<Point>
<coordinates>-3.576327,50.620920</coordinates>
</Point>
</Placemark>
<Placemark>

<Point>
<coordinates>-0.006660,52.409369</coordinates>
</Point>
</Placemark>
</Document>
</kml>

I guess, to get a citation you need to have the same infomation as your Google place info.

here is a way I do:

<kml xmlns="http://www.opengis.net/kml/2.2"
xmlns:atom="http://www.w3.org/2005/Atom">
<Document>

<atom:author>
<atom:name>Author Name (your company name or SEO keywords)</atom:name>
</atom:author>

<Placemark>

Company Name
Address: [street city, state zip]
Phone: [phone]

A small company description. Use SEO keywords if possible

<Point>
<coordinates>longitude,latitude</coordinates>
</Point>
</Placemark>
</Document>
</kml>

I just added address,phone and description, etc.

I may be wrong but that's what I think It will work. Maybe JeffR "the expert" will help us to learn more...

JeffR... Where are you? we are rady to learn....

The main competition I have on the Key Word "Frisco Photography" is using user generated maps and fake reviews and other stuff. I'm at the point where I may need to at least try to use the user generated maps technique. I also noticed that he does allot of paid directories, so maybe it's a coincidence, he's also right next to the city center.

Anyone know of someone that has one of those networks of google accounts that you can pay them to add your biz to them?

BTW if anyone wants to point out any ideas on getting Anya Coleman Photography to move for F position to A for that search ....I will be your best friend forever :-)

Here are some nuggets...

1. Use keywords for categories and put keywords and target cities in description (obvious, but sometimes I like stating the obvious). Don't just keyword stuff though, write out a human friendly description.
2. Make sure your images are named after your main keywords before you upload them.
3. Use the description field on your YouTube videos for citations and title the video after your main keyword phrase
4. For your citations, research all 7 listings in your target 7 box (if it's a 7 box), and see which sites keep showing up for citations. These are sites that you definitely need citations on. Same thing for reviews. (Try to get optimized reviews if possible - titles and descriptions - but don't make them spammy)
5. You can submit videos to other video sites in addition to YouTube and build more citations.
6. As mentioned earlier in this thread by someone else, use Pingler.com to build more citations.
7. As mentioned earlier in this thread by others, use KML files and user generated maps.

These things will put you ahead of the game in a lot of cases. (And please don't bash me if you already know all of the things above, from what I've seen from PM's, a lot of people don't know this stuff, let alone the more advanced stuff.) Obviously, just like traditional SEO, there is a fine art to it but a lot of it is common sense and you can find good information out there for free if you spend some time searching for it.

I'm sure a lot of you have read this...

http://www.davidmihm.com/local-searc...-factors.shtml

If not, read it, it's a good read.

I wasn't going to do it initially but so many people have asked me to so I will. If anyone is seriously interested in step-by-step type coaching (where I show you EVERYTHING that I do), PM me and we'll talk about it. If you're just interested in outsourcing this service, then PM me too and we'll talk about it.

Mark, I emailed you back earlier. I took a look at your wife's listing earlier and noticed a bunch of things that can be improved.

Everyone else, more to come later. Back to work!

P.S. PMing me is a quicker way of getting an answer or reply from me, because I get PM's emailed to me, where I can't get back to this thread as often as I'd like to. Thanks!

Hi JeffR,

Thanks for the great guidelines. I totally 100% AGREED.
Here are some small tips for whom want to do "extra works"

1-upload your pix to flikr.com - put your citation on description. (Google loves flickr)
2-upload video to metacafe.com for quick index (put your citation on description)
3-Write an article with your citations on the top or bottom then convert it to pdf. Upload to: docstoc.com, scribd.com and www.calameo.com then go to pingler.com and ping 3 sites.
4- go to feedlisting.com do the same ping....

If you make more money I don't mind if you share ... J/k

Hope it helps.

Good stuff, JeffR and FreeMango!

To put some of this on steroids, I use PixelPipes.com to syndicate images and videos with the citations in the descriptions (as FreeMango mentions above).

I get my videos made from people on Fiverr.com and have the PixelPipe accounts set-up by people also on Fiverr.com...super cheap and huge time saver.

Once you have a PixelPipe account set up for a vertical, you can slam a lot of media through!

I'm doing some deeper testing of the Geo RSS feed on WP blogs and will let everyone know if it will work for auto blogging to build more citations.

There is also Geo plugin for WP I haven't tested - http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-geo/ - theoretically you could set-up an auto blog and automatically tag images, videos and posts that get fed to Feedburner with the Geo information (citation)...if that works it will bury the competition alive.

Brett

Can somebody please explain what the geo sitemap is? Everything I've found assumes you already know.

I have actually done this 2 times. It didn;t take as long as your to come back up and it never got the rank it once had. One of them is Stop Foreclosure Fort Lauderdale. It was ranked letter A in Fort Lauderdale and all the surrounding cities with in a 20 mile radius. Something like 9 cities Some were one pack and some were 3 packs as well as 7 packs. After it did come back I was letter A for Fort Lauderdale, but eventually dropped to Letter B. I could get A back with a little promotion, But it doesn't get many calls and when I do, I refer them out to a local attorney.

The other listing was for a Los Angeles Criminal Attorney. I had 3 keywords ranked in the 7 box. after I changed the phone number it dropped out of sight for about 3 weeks. It's now back into the 7 box for one keyword. I just started to promote it so I know I will surpass the old rankings.

AS far as the www.Google.com it usually means they don't have a website for the listing. So that's what displays.

A geo sitemap is just a pointer that tells the Google spider where the KML file is. The KML file is contains the information that is in your google places listing with the addition of your Latitude & Longitude. that's the basic definition.

If you want to use a new phone number for the same business...

Make a new Places listing for the business.

Over time, Google will merge the two listings together and take the most recent phone number for the listing.

I have experienced this personally and seen other case studies.

The phone number is the 'anchor' for the listing and the most important part of the citation.

When updating listings, remember this:

Google views a phone number the same as website domain (URL) - don't change it.

Google views the business address the same as a hosting account (i.p. address) - you can change it.

In other words, you can change the business' physical address but don't change the phone number.

Hope these analogies help.

P.S. I've analyzed case studies where the same phone number is used on several different website domains and Google counts the separate domains as citations...and ignores the different physical addresses on the websites. My guess is that Google believes a phone number will always follow a business in a case where it changes physical locations. Therefore, the phone number is weighted more heavily when considering whether or not to count a citation.

Here is a great tool for analyzing your competition's citations...

http://www.whitespark.ca/tools/local-citation-finder

It's free, but you do have to sign up to use it. The cool thing is it saves your results and you can use the results page as a worksheet, checking off the sites that you already have citations on. It's a great tool and a huge time saver.

Enjoy!

hey guys, I don't think it is necessarily true that changing the address will drop the listing. I just changed the address on a listing a few days ago and I wasn't even asked to re-verify. The address immediately changed and the listing still holds several A spots.

Correct...changing the address won't drop the listing.

Changing the phone number will get the listing rejected.

I'm glad to see that changing the address has no impact.

As far as changing the phone number I don't know why you would ever need to do that.

Here is something similar o what I wrote to another warrior on the Warrior Forum. If my comments are incorrect then let me know.

These comments were based on creating a Google Places listing BEFORE having a client for a particular niche and getting a top GP listing then basically renting the space and or selling the leads this listing generates to a local merchant. But then also taking into account that the business client at some point decides he isn't going to continue to pay your monthly fee so you need a way to protect your GP generated leads so you can easily shut off the faucet to this client (the phone calls) and be able to easily send those leads to a new client in the same niche all without ever changing the phone number in the GP listing.

"If you use a virtual phone service where all you're doing is changing where the call really gets forwarded too then the phone number on the GP listing never has to change, so why change something that doesn't need to be changed?

Plus if you do it this way then YOU get to see how many calls your GP listing is getting and you can show it to your client every month (send them the stats every month) so they can see that it's YOUR efforts that are providing leads for them.

Plus if they decide to stop paying you at some point because they figure you've already built them an online lead asset then you can easily take that asset away from them by leaving the listings as is then find their competitor and show them all the stats and it should be an easy sell."

All you need to do when setting up a new GP listing whether for a local client or as a generic listing that you then rent out to a local client once it's generating traffic is to always setup the GP with a virtual phone number then forward that number to your clients office. If he stops paying you your monthly fee then you don't need to change the phone number on your GP listing, you simple change where that phone number forwards the calls too.

There are many virtual phone number places you can use (Google it). Here are just a couple http://www.phone.com and http://www.tollfreeforwarding.com/to...orwarding.html.
